Your privacy matters to us. This page explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Ffembi is an innovation and entrepreneurship support organization based at the National ICT Innovation Hub in Nakawa, Kampala, Uganda. We are responsible for the personal data we collect through this website and our related services, including our ecosystem map.
We handle personal data in line with Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
We collect only what we need, in three ways.
Our map shows organizations and people who build or support innovation in Uganda. Much of it comes from public sources, and some comes from the people and organizations themselves. We keep sources attached to what we publish.
If you appear on the map and want something corrected, updated or removed, contact us and we will act on it promptly.
We use your personal data when you have given consent, when it is needed to provide something you asked for, when we have a legitimate interest that does not override your rights (such as keeping the map accurate), or when the law requires it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
We do not sell personal data. We share it only in these cases:
We use only the cookies and similar tools needed to run the site and understand its use in general terms. If we add anything that tracks you for advertising, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as the law requires. When we no longer need it, we delete it or anonymize it.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from loss, misuse and unauthorized access. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Some of our providers store or process data outside Uganda. When that happens, we take steps to make sure your data stays protected to a standard that meets the law.
You have the right to:
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can also complain to Uganda's Personal Data Protection Office, which sits within the National Information Technology Authority (NITA-U).
Our website and services are not aimed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has given us their data, tell us and we will delete it.
Our site links to other websites and tools, including our ecosystem map and booking page. We are not responsible for how they handle your data, so please read their policies.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will say so on the site.
